I confirm that Miroku in the flashback is acc Shippo. He’s able to transform into Mir without any flaws. Despite this, he can’t change his voice. This ability works putting a leaf onto his head and in Yashahime he covers it with the hat.

Watching the Miroku OVA. This is some good rough and rushed Ishikawa schlock. A good mix of limited animation techniques mirroring dynamic pro's manga abstraction and modest bursts of fluid body horror. With some interesting KAs coming up in later episodes, like Shinji Hashimoto!

I said nothing till now but I suspect of Miroku and Hachi for a while. In Inuyasha H takes M’s form. In the episode Miroku doesn’t speak. H and Takechiyo are related. That Miroku might be Hachi. If he’s not, then it’s 100% an impostor.
