1 thing that does really help with rigging for me though is writing down notes. If you're making a model and you have a certain vision it's important to write or sketch down things you want to remember/your rigger to know. I have a couple on my models + some others

I try to often break down my own finished drawings to basics. Then I try to make corrections from there by writting notes. I don't feel bad about making errors because it's better to learn from them.

The same thing can be done with color but I don't know how to do that yet.
