Heavy agree, honestly one of my favorite things about the archie comics is that they kept Knuckles as Sonic’s main rival throughout the entire run. So many aspects about them clash with each other, they’re perfect rivals imo.

We’re not the only ones who thought this. Even among officials there’s been a lot of confusion on what Sonic’s shoes are! Some people didn’t even think he had buckled thanks to in game sprites and almost no art showing this. So it leaked into official art! Even in comics!
