The enchanting Souvenir (c. 1775-80) is one of two paintings to be restored in 2019 by Nicole Ryder for #FixingFrago.
The yellowed varnish will be removed to reveal Fragonard’s original colours and the split in the panel assessed to safeguard this masterpiece.

#throwbackTHURSDAY Experimental portrait painted on a postcard. I inked the portrait w/ink. Completely covered the surface w/ wood varnish. Once dry I rolled on black and unbleached titanium acrylic paint w/ a brayer. Once tacky, I used a palette knife to scrape off most!
