Hey you know what's really difficult? Trying to do a disassembly on an architecture that isn't present in either IDA Pro or Ghidra. Anyway, the stage select function works in SegaSonic arcade, looks like there's more left over in the proto too...

I see Min playing in an arcade, watering some succulents, or drinking some coffee! He's a patient mouse that likes silence but is also hella competitive and will always try to win in arcade games, especially the claw machines.

Gaia Crusaders (Arcade, 1999) is another hidden gem of a side-scrolling beat-em-up that deserves a second chance at a western fan base. It's got a slick combo system, stunning animation and a killer soundtrack. https://t.co/3fLGrXQsAp

Give it a listen and check out these screens

ASTÉRIX - Arcade, 1992, Konami. The player goes to the right, beats the next enemy and at the end of fights against boss. The player can count on help from Falbala and Idefix and the dog brings the magic potion

If you beat Final Fight (arcade, I dunno if it works on any other ports) on the hardest difficulty without continuing, you get a special credits scene that starts off with "MY NAME IS POM", which is a reference to the creator of Final Fight: Pom Gee.

Less impressive than last night's Ryu progression, this is all of his sprites from the original Street Fighter. In order: Arcade, PCE/TG16, Amiga/Atari ST, Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, C64 (EU), C64 (US) and PC (DOS). Of course, all versions are covered in detail in the first chapter!

Picking four is insanely difficult. Heracles mentions would be TMNT Arcade, Command & Conquer, and Mega Man 2/3. https://t.co/B6RR4nq8bP

Oriental Legend (Arcade, 1997) is based on the Chinese novel 'Journey to the West.' It's got slick animation, bright graphics, varied characters, and an inventory system. Some of the bosses and magic specials are just plain insane.

My favorite games from my birth year.

There were a lot of other great games in my year, but I can't say they are my favorite because I haven't played them myself (i.e. Simpsons Arcade, Final Fantasy II (US), Turtles in Time, etc) https://t.co/d4nDvhZSzF

The Ninja Warriors (Arcade, 1987) is a unique brawler as Taito used mirror trickery and multiple screens to create a seamless triple-wide screen effect. Expand the images below to see it in action. The tech was also used in the shooters Darius and Darius II.

Today for my book I'm playing and writing about Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon (Arcade, 1995).

I'm not familiar with the show at all, but the combat is pretty fun here. Great visuals and animation, but the soundtrack is all over the map :O

Guardians: Denjin Makai II (Arcade, 1995)

Okay folks, here it is: the best side-scrolling beat-em-up I've played for my book that I hadn't played before. If you love the genre, please don't sleep on this one.

8 characters, superb specials, a combo system and stunning visuals.

King of the Monsters 2: The Next Thing (Arcade, 1993)

Really good monster-battling fun that feels like a cross between a classic side-scroller and a wrestling game. SNK really improved on the original with this one.

Guardian's of the 'Hood (Arcade, 1992). This is utter dogshit from Atari Games, but you have to admire the digitised sprite technique that captured real actors in front of a bluescreen, similar to their work on Pit-Fighter.

Also, is that Michael Jackson??

Arabian Fight (Arcade, 1992). Running on Sega's System 32 hardware, the brawler uses Yu Suzuki's Super Scaler tech to pull off neat depth of field trickery. It also plays anime movie sequences directly over the game when using magic specials - a similar art style to Road Avenger.
