For some reason they prefered to make a new illustration/reuse old one, for Kira's chara design render instead of using the actual art from the refrence sheet. I always found the inconsistent palette in it very jarring lol

I find it jarring when people ask if we're still doing SINK, or if there is any more coming out. The gap between volumes has been lengthier than intended (thanks COVID), but I've scripted near 200 SINK pages this past year. It's the comic I've done most active work on in 2020.

in contrast, these costumes go against the rules of color schemes and have little color similarity. this can lead to people finding the outfit jarring + asynchronous.

in haruka/uzuki's outfits, the bright blues seem to heavily clash the reds, making the outfit seem disjointed.

another thing that makes them good concept-wise is the level of risk/how abrasive they are. imo they were made be hard to forget, so there's a lot going on in the designs
there's often a jarring clash of colors/textures that draw the eye not to a singular point, but the whole fit
