William Blake’s scenes from Shakespeare ~ Oberon, Titania & Puck with Fairies Dancing (A Midsummer Night's Dream) ■ “Pity, like a naked new-born babe / Striding the blast, or heaven's cherubim, hors'd / Upon the sightless couriers of the air” (Macbeth) ■ King Lear & Cordelia
@railroadwrath This is Shan D’Lear! He’s a fox monk and he escaped a monastery that was turning orphans into killing machines. He’s not a very smart man but is charismatic and a natural born leader

Today, Edward Lear. I was going to do Sargent, but everyone knows him.
I first saw Lear's watercolors of Greece in 1976 at @ASCSAthens and they blew me away. A strong influence on my desire to do watercolor landscapes
Now: "King Lear (Redacted and Reconstructed)," a poem by Julianne Neely @juleneely, the author of THE BODY BESIDE HERSELF (@SlopeEditions).

Happy #FolkloreThursday! (Edward Lear's "Owl and the Pussycat" illustrated by L. Leslie Brooke)
I've been updating Wikipedia species pages with details of important & type specimens @World_Museum. Its nice when I find info about the specimens is already there, such as the types of the Himalayan Quail which were painted by both Edward Lear, for the description, & John Gould
It's #NationalLimerickDay!
This day is celebrated on the birthday of Edward Lear—born May 12, 1812—who popularized the limerick with his fantastical 1846 book, "Book of Nonsense".
But as a young man, Lear worked for the @britishmuseum, and produced ornithological illustrations!
WE LOVE POETRY!

Lear has been playing animal crossing since he was a child and that's how he avoids stress (and gained his knowledge to create and manage his own island.)
That's not a hc, IT'S A FACT.
Sketch of the King Lear scene where we see Lear descending into madness. Sam makes some observations about life and decline based on this...#art #instaart #mobileart #ibispaint #webtoon #shortstory #wip #wipart
