I still don't understand why some fans assert that Sally somehow is dumber, ditzy, less sassy, has shed her dynamic with Sonic, and/or less Sally-esque in the reboot.

It's fine not to like this rendition (I prefer other Sally designs and portrayals myself), but where?

One subtle difference I've noticed about Dana and Dinah is that Dana always has a sleepy eyed look, kind of like Huey from the Ducktales reboot. Maybe he has a similar laid-back personality compared to his sister.

There were more times e.g., that time where Sonic was giving up. Sure she was "encouraging" but GA-LEE 😭. I never seen her behave like that before in a similar situation - not even in X (closest was Cruise Ship Blues).
There's another example but this time in the reboot.

I finished Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Honestly it is by far the best TR game in a long time. And is my 2nd favorite entry in the series right next to Tomb Raider II. This game encompasses everything I had hoped for the reboot. Took 3 entries. But I'm happy with this result. 9/10
