Early 70s had a simplistic run where he just rode around in souped up corvettes and mustangs that I like a lot, too. Also really like the New Adventures design. Though I think my top is gonna be Batinson's for a while.

maybe it's the colors? i suggest sticking to a more simplistic style, and desaturate the colors so it's not as noticeable when the characters are added!! calm color palettes help with bgs, i have a couple examples for some forest bgs
