Yuki-onna are often shown as a tall, beautiful woman with long black hair and blue lips. Her inhumanly pale skin makes her blend into the snowy landscape. She floats across the snow, leaving no footprints and transforms into a cloud of mist or snow if threatened.

The Yuki-Onna, or Japanese snow maiden, is thought to be the spirit of someone who perished in the snow. In many stories, she appears to travellers trapped in snowstorms & uses her icy breath to leave them as frost-coated corpses.
