Some stories have Ibaraki-douji as a male oni & second in command to Shuten-douji, and others have her as female, sometimes even Shuten’s wife! There are multiple accounts of her retrieving her arm from Tsuna, & it was a popular subject in literature & plays.
I guess he had it coming after trying to embarrass our princess with her childhood stories. His additional "experience" allows him to floor most young soldiers in battle or in a bar, though.
...And he does say some good things.
