One of the things I appreciate about this arc is how it nailed the aftermaths of Subaru's death, like him instinctively checking for his missing eye, or hesitating to comfort Emilia. But what's significant about this scene is how he relapses into his old habits regarding Emilia.

Obviously a metal axe will seriously mess you up. Even a stone axe will do significant damage. If Animal Crossing were a fighting game, I’d choose the axe to defend me.
Plus it’s got scare factor when your sibling decides to chase you around the island with it.
