I gave it a shot, I tried simplifying it and keeping spots mostly around the head/chest/fins. I'm not sure how you feel about gradients especially if you're keeping it fursuit-friendly but yeah dslkgja

Enjoyed making a vertex lighting HDA for a prototype. Can output all to red which is then used as an index into a shader's gradient map, v.easy to match lighting to a skybox in-game. AO channel is output to green as it is also useful as an input for other shader passes.

with shiny fabrics it helps to have some sharper/less blended sides! think about where the fabric folds; let the parts that drape have a gradient of shadow, but where the fabric folds make sure to put the shadow and highlight right up against each other
