Pay attention to the hands. These drawings are only held one frame (1/24th of a second) longer in the animation to the right, but they read so much better now. In the left (evenly timed) animation they read as after images. The slight padding gives your brain time to register em!

I'm no emote artist, however I am an artist / illustrator and took it upon myself to draw an emote from scratch in less than 15 minutes (I timed myself)
I had give me an emote prompt and I drew a waving pikachu in 10 minutes and 38 seconds.
