I had a sudden boost of energy with this project, exploring negative space, shading, and focusing on important details. I ended up writing a whole narrative along side it. Strangely it was easier for me to go off writing, than vice versa.

After that I color each thing on a different layer, keeping the base layer selected. (Here I only had hair so it's a lil easier). After that, on their respective layers, I do light shading, just enough to tell a difference and where I want shading to be.

My first couple steps: I combine sketch layers and color it. I make sure it's a color relevant to the color palette so that it'll blend easier later. Then I pick a skin tone and just color the whole thing on a layer below the lineart. Then select the layer.

Day 445: It's coming along pretty good. Rendering skin feels soooooo much easier than clothes/tights 😓
