Scene- The focus of the work is on the event/moment, interaction w/ the space and sometimes with props. There is some overlap with portraiture, but scenes are a bit more candid + in cases where eyes are turned towards the viewer, there is interaction. You become part of the scene

Portrait- The focus of the work is on the mood of a character. Unlike a showcase, I'm free to cover designs up, and to show the backs of heads. Unlike a scene though, the subject is Typically unfocused or focused on the viewer, or another character.
Most of my art is portraiture.

two studies for Euro Disney's Cowboy cookout Barbecue. First one by Katie Olson, second by Karen Conolly Armitage. Karen grew up in an amish community, it was these kind of rural comunities that inspired the Cookout. Everybody pitches in and thus all the furtniture is diffrent.
