In case anyone was wondering, this is the process I'm currently experimenting with a lot.
Idk how to really describe it, but it makes painting feel a lot like working with clay as for a large part I just push the pixels around. And while maybe not effective I think it's fun.
I finished Tunic a couple weeks ago and had such a great time with it! I wanted to do a simple piece of fanart that doesn't spoil anything game related, yet still comes off as mysterious. The sense of discovery in the game was incredibly refreshing and fun.

You know what I never did, even though I grew up inventing tons of fake #pokemon? I never tried my hands at one of the many Sugimori style tutorials out there.
I did it now. It's pretty fun. The one I used also uses textures in addition to everything else. Pretty interesting!
