En parlant de choses non conservées, l'équipe artistique de FFXIII avait imaginé un tout autre domaine de Gran Pulse. Celui-ci aurait été dominé par le fal'Cie Ramuh, qui aurait créé des nuages d'orage en fumant un calumet. Le voici dessiné par Chikako Nakano !
Autre exemple : au départ, Motomu Toriyama avait posé l'idée qu'au-dessus de Gran Pulse et Cocoon ne se trouvait pas l'atmosphère, mais un océan. Cela se retrouve dans cette autre illustration d'Ueda, montrant un ciel ondulant. Cela n'a pas été conservé dans le jeu final.
Initialement, d'ailleurs, Gran Pulse devait avoir une touche plus fantasy. Cela se ressent dans ce paysage conceptuel dessiné par Yoshihisa Ueda : des formations rocheuses spectaculaires, une pieuvre géante et, surtout, des cascades dont l'eau remonte vers le ciel !
Autre exemple de Pulse à l'intérieur de Cocoon : la Cinquième Arche. Ici, l'équipe artistique s'est directement inspirée de la fosse anti-inondation de Saitama, près de Tokyo, mise en service en 2006 : https://t.co/MGYzycZG7l (En démultipliant les proportions !)
