Metroid and Kirby literally got the best possible outcomes for their anniversaries. Metroid got a new 2D game for the first time in 19 years that was basically a redo of a cancelled game. Kirby got its first 3D platformer EVER which we have been waiting decades for.

And, definitely not inspired by any cats, orange or otherwise.
