Thanks for reading, Ben. It was a really interesting essay to research and write. There were so many threads to connect within the texts. It has definitely helped when reading and reflecting on the longlist, especially when they deal with grief/loss/illness.

As an artist I kind of stop worrying about being rejected and just move on. If they message me I'll be excited, otherwise I dont care.

On the otherside I've found some really unique artists from making these threads and got some of my fave commissions (like this from MacuN_Art)

It really comes down to what you believe is ugly or presume to be ugly. I've seen pleanty of waifu threads that include the unique faces of one piece background waifus. I myself adore Sonia's wide face ever since day 1.
