Syd Mead might singlehandedly be responsible for my obsession w/ neofuturistic art & cyberpunk. Besides what he’s typically known for (Bladerunner, Aliens, Tron, etc), he was also a consultant & designer for many other futuristic technothrillers, like my fave—STRANGE DAYS. RIP.

I know this isn’t technically the STARLOG account, but it would be remiss not to acknowledge that the legendary SYD MEAD (ALIENS, BLADE RUNNER, TRON, every futuristic landscape you’ve ever seen) just passed away. RIP.

Got to warmup this morning by rifting with my imagination. The futuristic depiction of the daughter of Mr. Claus was the result, and I had fun with it.
Happy holidays to everyone that might see this. Love yourself and others the best you can while you have the opportunity.

For the Frontier Team, the Burst Species were them reimagining classic monsters and giving them a more futuristic and mechanical appearance conceptually. While Zerureusu and Diorekkusu were in development, for example, the team nicknamed them "Mecha Los" and Mecha Rex."

Finished a rough 3D model of a Nexus 1-man shuttle. Even at the age of 15, Zodiak knew how to fly one of these with little to no assistance.
I wanted the ship’s design to look futuristic, but also give a nod to today’s shuttle rockets.

AHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHNNNNNGHHHHH yes yes yes 🤠💦💦💦💦💦 good stuff right there. I could totally see that being a thing, given that we now know canes exist ... It's not all futuristic high-tech, it resembles what we know ...

or take LaRousse city, from the Destiny Deoxys film! it's a much more simple futuristic city but somehow exceedingly realistic and charming. idk i just love when pokemon tackles being a more futuristic place in way more sci-fi ways like these than realistic-possible-future ways
