- super rough sketch
- blocked in values
- render in bw, add overlays for atmosphere
- rough colors with “vivid light” and overlay layers
- then tweak colors with the curves and color balance!

the host of tweaks they made to the face also add up to make it lifeless. id guess that the mouth was shrunk to allow for clothing? my quick redraw attempt isnt perfect but at least it looks more cheerful and closer to the previous art (and still accommodates for wearables)
took a break from the color im struggling with to finish some easy UC recolors I hadn't gotten to yet- I also tweaked purple to give it orange accents, since before conversion all of the purple pets still had their orange spots! (the converted purple Centibyte hasn't changed)
I just tweaked the colors of Larry Alcala's old works just to visualize but if Larry Alcala were alive now, we would probably have a lot of fun #kakampink art. 💗
