“Betray a friend, and you'll often find you have ruined yourself.”
A #quote from Aesop's Fables (on the left depicted in F. Barlow's 1687 ed.), initially a cornerstone of the oral tradition of #storytelling with deep roots in ancient Greek #folklore. #FolkloreThursday

recluse but aesop's a mortician that eli consults with who's a little bit suspicious but they're besties so he lets things slide
Just a little moment from a storyboard I worked on.
Inspired by The Oak and the Reed (one of Aesop's Fables).
Day 19 of #idvshiptober2021, Matching clothes!

《And I will love him. . .from the grave.》
To celebrate Aesop's new S tier cause he's fr gorgeous...
In terms of anthros, there's two styles I'm particularly fond of:
The kind found in Aesop's fables and Beatrix Potter's work, where they're simply upright animals in clothing
And the kind found in J. J. Grandville's work, where they're just straight up humans with animal heads
Aesop's Exorcist costume is my favorite survivor costume. I also wanted to try a monochrome look for this drawing.

at first i thought aesop's exorcist skin had a rerun but that would be too good to be true #identityv
These images are from a lovely 17th century French version of Aesop's Fables titled 'Les fables d'Esope Phrygien' by I. Baudoin, published in Paris by Jean duBray in 1649 that was illustrated with wonderful copperplate etchings. Learn more: https://t.co/YJPTY0PqWl
First, what is a fable? A fable is a distinct type of folk tale that features anthromorphized animals, plants, objects, or natural phenomenon and features a moral lesson. This moral may be written explicitly at the end as a concise saying, as is the case with Aesop's Fables. 2/

So I drew lots of angels, they are Aesop's superior and also staffs from the Judgement
They don't like Aesop and always give work to Aesop, Aesop doesn't like them too
Imagine living in a place full of angels hate you and you're the only devil there, that's how Aesop feels
GUESS WHO FINALLY FINISHED THIS SKETCH! ME! its a little bland on aesop's side but i was getting bored and wanted to move on, sorry aesop 😋‼️ #IDV #IDVFanart

@PiperFaye It's been a long time, but I think the friendlier version I saw was an animated cartoon, probably by Disney. 🤔
I love Aesop's Fables and cautionary tales! I refer to "sour grapes" so much in these modern times, before the term became "being salty".
