Stanhope Forbes was born in Belfast in 1847 and died in Newlyn in 1947. 'A Fish Sale on a Cornish Beach' debuted in 1885 and was a huge hit, leading other artists to congregate in Newlyn. Forbes became the leader of the 'Newlyn School' art colony on the coast of Cornwall.
We draw whatever the weather! Storm Alex hit during StreetDraw24 2020 and @jessicavoke was one of over 100 artists who did not let that stop her! Her pictures helped us raise funds to help @stpetrocs support people facing homelessness here in Cornwall. See you out there later!
First thing I’ve drawn since we’ve moved down to Cornwall. My cat Beryl, dressed as a cowgirl with a rope saying “meowdy” - is it obvious works a bit slow for me at the moment?

"Since retiring I have taken up painting more seriously and now live in rural Somerset, surrounded by the beauty of Exmoor and the Quantock Hills. I also paint seascapes, inspired by the coasts of Devon and Cornwall."

Spriggans are small, ugly, malicious fairies in Cornwall. They guard treasure, steal babies and leave changelings behind, ruin crops, and attack those who spy on them. Said to be the ghosts of giants, they can swell to enormous size.

@DavidMankinArt lives and works in the south west of Cornwall. His abstract paintings not only draw inspiration from the dramatic Cornish coastline; the wild, empty moors; the big skies; but also the raw, physical elements of the landscape.
