I love these storytelling scenes: SJ Guy’s “The Story of Golden Locks” c. 1870, & the original frontispieces for the British editions of the Grimms’ fairy tales, c. 1820s, & illustrated by the great George Cruikshank. I love the coziness. ☺️📚💫

The whole mid-late 2000s genre of “annoying meme character” has died out a long time ago which is why you only see stuff like Crazy Frog or Gummy Bear through nostalgia.

Even Lucas Cruikshank knew Fred was running his course and it’s a shame Daneboe hasn’t moved on either.
