In the end i ended up making a combination for both hairdos, less curves and more spikes. Also the blank eyes looked better than the one's with pupiles.

Here is the complete sprite bank for those generated faces! As you can see, there are 4 varients for each element: eyebrow, beard, ear, mouth, nose, throat, chin, and eye. And 4 hairdos, each stored in a bit layer of a 4x4 sprite. We use palette swaps to adapt all to the explorer
