I've started having my AP students add a "constraint" to each of the Sustained Investigation pieces. Last week's constraint was surface manipulation. (they had to use @ least 3 layers including newspaper/article that related to their topic)

I'm so in love with these "wild Wednesday" assignments my students did. These students did asynchronously in 1 "class period." It forces them out of their comfort zone, encourages looseness, mark-making, and PLAY!

AP and Painting students had "Wild Wednesday" yesterday where they had 1 hour to find and draw a simple still life using white colored pencil on black paper.
