Sunsets were never something I cared about as Tourist Theresa, but as Local Theresa this stance has actually changed. I have a bagillion photos of sunsets and i can’t stop!!

What was Mallory Square like before the Sunset Celebration? Experts (me) say it was home to the Kraken.

One of my fav stories is how in the 80s the mayor declared war on the US to protest a roadblock/inspection point that was placed on the only road leading in & out the keys. The was born! But the mayor quickly surrendered & applied for foreign aid.

is just now cooling down to a crisp mid 80 degree weather. Sweater weather? I don’t know her.

Seriously, I cannot stress this enough. 100% historically accurate. Also why was everyone in ye olden key west times named John??

Drawn to Key West strives for historical accuracy. No exaggerations here.

Where did the name “Key West” come from? The island was called “Cayo Hueso” by the Spanish but English speakers couldn’t quite get the pronunciation. They were like...Key West? Close enough 🤷‍♀️

I never predicted that alligator encounters would be a reoccurring theme in my comic, but here we are.

Fun fact: cats are hard to draw apparently 🤷‍♀️

In order to get from to Florida mainland, you gotta drive across the 42 bridges that connect the Keys. I am both afraid of the ocean and of bridges, but we’re all about conquering anxieties in this household.

Reference photos are super important to drawing. Whenever I start a new project, the first thing I do is collect as much references as I can. I think at this point, I’ve photographed Mallory Square at every angle one possibly could.

Gypsy Rose is named after the song by Keywest! I recommend listening to it ♥️

My parents have made many photo albums featuring our yearly trips to and our evenings spent at Mallory Square, so of course most of the street performers have made an appearance in them.

I’m halfway done with Drawn To Key West! Cue Bon Jovi’s Living on a Prayer.

One of the street performers wears so many unique and awesome clothes during his performances, I had a hard time deciding which one to draw him in my comic. So, I decided to draw them all!

I have no witty caption to accompany this drawing with, I apologize. But please enjoy this snippet of Mallory Square.

I don’t even like going out all that much, but oh what I would give for the ability to go to a bar without the fear of catching the plague.

Captain Tonys is a bar in Not a place I normally go to but it used to be a morgue & theres a big tree inside so thats kinda cool
