In Greek myth, Cerberus was Hades' three headed dog, who stood guard to the underworld. Cerberus. One of Hercules' labours was to capture Cerberus and bring the dog to the mortal world. Cerberus also might mean "spotted", a cute name for a scary beast! 🐶🐶🐶
