The art for Junk Shield and Freeze Cracker have Megaman in almost his normal colors, but for the other weapons art, MegaMan's colors are different.

As for the other two, I'll have to look up Wham Bam Rock, but Thanatos just had big lips due to being a clown-inspired character and big lips being a comical thing in Japanese media, even Japanese & white characters can have them, like Megaman's Dex.

In recent years I've come to appreciate that two different artists looked at Megaman's big ol' anime eyes on his sprite and said "that's gotta be a visor or mask".
