Vava voom! Some updated TR-3B/"Astra" Character concepts using Midjourney's latest update.

She has the power of Holographic Warfare, super sonic flight, invisibilty cloak, energy weapons, electronic/psychotronic weapons. Very high tech stuff https://t.co/Xc23ZqonpD

To expand on this. NONE of these images that Midjourney's AI created are mine. They are simple prompts that I had no creative input on, I had no idea what it would create, and therefor are not my art. But I can bash them into my artwork and make something with them.

Today's Midjourney's theme is ancient goth-looking castles. All of the images generated look amazing 😍.

These are Midjourney's attempts at "Surface Tension", a Kustom Kulture artwork in the style of Alexander Milne Calder. Which makes no sense at all, but I dig the results!

results on the same prompt are wildly different. MJ just can't do cel style animation, not with any combination of prompts I've found at least, but what it does make is more artistic, moodier, and less "obvious"

Anyway, about the extending neck thing. Midjourney's default aspect ratio is 1:1. It's pretty good with wider ARs, too. But tall images sometimes look like the machine tried to fill up the space by doubling the image. So I tried 3:4 and 1:1. Why did these turn out so creepy???

To be fair, I'll show Midjourney's first-run attempts at this prompt, in square and vertical aspect ratios:

So, another datapoint on Midjourney's interesting responses to nonsense words. I tried getting it to imitate Geoff Darrow's art, but I mistyped the name as "Geodff Darrow". And it generated this amazing fleshy meat world! Nothing like Darrow's work, but definitely SOMETHING.

The cartooniness or lack thereof is an artifact of selection more than capabilities, though the new algo leans to the naturalistic.

This is what Midjourney's AI thinks "Hyper Jellyz" are...

Here is midjourney's take on "artwork by mike campau" and "a dark streetscape with neon lights, by mike campau". midjourney isn't great at photorealism, but it does appear to know of you in some sense.

I'll ask DALL-E 2 when I have credits available again

Got in Midjourney's beta, and it's a bit frightening. IMO this tech's explosion is unavoidable, artists can't ignore it. Even if you won't use it, should be familiar with it. These are AI John Singer Sargent paintings of dinosaurs and cowboys crossing a river at dawn. Thread 1/?

When you are communicating with Midjourney's AI, if you write in riddles or have a poetic, abstract approach instead of descriptive prompts, it gets more interesting.

Here I wrote:
"Time is chaos lingering in the darkness, figures disappearing in the portal of the abyss" /thread
