Decap Attack (1991, Sega) - Genesis/Mega Drive
Sharp Pixels vs. Genesis RGB via Sony PVM-20L2MD
This one's for all you little crispy pixel sickos. It's kind of wild how many small details are drawn into Decap's sprites that get lost in composite
Shiren the Wanderer 2: Oni Invasion! Shiren Castle! (2000, Chunsoft) - N64
Sharp Pixels vs. N64 S-Video via Sony PVM-20L2MD
One more late night Shiren post before October starts! Couldn't forget certified good boy and top-tier weasel friend, Koppa!
Street Fighter II (1992, Capcom) - SNES
Sharp Pixels vs. SNES S-Video via Sony PVM-20L2MD
I love the natural look of Chun-Li's individual hairs and the folds in the fabric of her hair buns here!
Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master (1993, Sega) - Genesis/Mega Drive
Sharp Pixels vs. Genesis Composite via Sony PVM-20L2MD
Thank you for your patience and kind words! We're back and Shinobi-posting once again! Let's kick things off with a new crunchy Genesis waterfall!
F-Zero X (1998, Nintendo) - N64
Sharp Pixels vs. N64 S-Video via Sony PVM-20L2MD
The artist that converted this game's illustrations to pixels did a phenomenal job and the CRT and N64 hardware do a phenomenal job displaying those pixels as an illustration. Both are gorgeous.
Final Fantasy VI (1994, Squaresoft) - SNES
2014 and 2021 Remaster vs. SNES S-Video via PVM-20L2MD
Thank you to @RPGSite for their remaster comparison. While I do prefer the new sprites to 2014's, The SNES originals still win out overall for me, based on what we've seen so far.
Final Fantasy VI (1994, Squaresoft) - SNES
Sharp Pixels vs. SNES S-Video via Sony PVM-20L2MD
As much as I appreciate the effort of the new Final Fantasy remasters, I still can't help but feel that Square Enix's constant meddling with its original visuals is unnecessary.
Bestie I know it’s a Monday but calm down🖐🏻😃

Fatal Fury 3: Road to the Final Victory (1995, SNK) - NEOGEO
Sharp Pixels vs. RGBPi RGB via Sony PVM-20L2MD
I really like enabling the bilinear filter when playing on my RGBPi. After comparing to a Neo Geo MVS recently I noticed that my PVM was looking a bit too sharp for me.
U.N. Squadron (1991, Capcom) - SNES
Sharp Pixels vs. SNES S-Video via PVM-20L2MD
I really feel that Capcom and the SNES were just made for each other.
Magical Drop III (1996, Data East) - NEOGEO
RGBPi Raw Pixels vs. RGBPi RGB via Sony PVM-20L2MD
I recalibrated my PVM again and I think I'm a lot happier with the colors over RGB. It still always photographs fairly blue, so keep that in mind.
Chrono Trigger (1995, Squaresoft) - SNES
PC Emulator vs. SNES S-Video via Sony PVM-20L2MD
I know we've been looking at a lot of portraits and S-Video this week, but I just grant me one more!
U.N. Squadron (1991, Capcom) - SNES
PC Emulator vs. SNES S-Video via PVM-20L2MD
This game is just stacked with beautiful portraits and illustrations that look amazing on a CRT.
Kirby Super Star (1996, HAL) - SNES
Raw Pixels vs. RGBPi RGB via Sony PVM-20L2MD
Love to see my handsome boys just having a good time.
Samurai Shodown II (1994, SNK) Neo Geo
RGBPi Raw Pixels vs. RGBPi via Sony PVM 20L2MD RGB
I sometimes get criticism about color changes from the raw pixels, but look at Haohmaru's skin tone here. You can't tell me SNK didn't intend for these colors to change on a CRT.
Breakers Revenge (1998, Visco) - Neo Geo
RGBPi Raw Pixels vs. PVM-20L2MD RGB
More gorgeous artwork from one of my favorite underrated fighters! Love the look of the misty mountain folding screen behind him.
Coryoon (1991, Naxat) - PC Engine
RGBPi Raw Pixels vs. PVM-20L2MD RGB
This game is just too cute man.
City Connection (1985, Jaleco) - Arcade
Raw Pixels vs. PVM-20L2MD RGB
Crazy how smooshed our girl Clarice is here when the pixels are square! I always love seeing which arcade games did this.
