Mob looks inoffensif at first and Reigen knows people won't bother him and underestimate him. But when a pawn reaches the other side of the board, it becomes a queen, the most powerful piece on a bord. Mob becomes Reigen's queen.
Reigen: the king
I thought about a queen but a king makes more sense since Reigen has no power like a king who can only eat pieces around him but he gives off a queen vibe (he's faking his powers).
Also his crown is similar to the king crown of the chess piece.
What if the MP100 royal concept was actually a chess concept?
The floor could be a hint and Reigen's espers could be his army

But I have some opinions.
I think the artist was not comfortable drawing with this style? They might had that moment when you focus so much on details and reference, the vibe of the drawing gets weird? I could be wrong!
BUT THEY MADE SUCH A GOOD REIGEN!!!
mob laughing at the end depicts his development & emotional growth of opening up to receive friends he loves + trusts and letting them love + trust him too. but this was reigen's b-day bc reigen was also alone. BOTH their growth led them to the same place. mob psycho is the best.
