The Handley Page Hastings served the RAF for almost three decades, despite starting as a development of the WW 2 bomber, the Halifax.
Hindered by its tailwheel arrangement (pushing cargo uphill, when loading!), it was a good aircraft, with (apparently) very comfy pilot's seats!

Drawing of the Sikorsky JRS-1 at Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. The JRS-1 was a great airplane that could do it all. It’s an amphibious aircraft, which means it can operate on water and land.

We don't know the details of Kaji's death.

All we know is that he stopped the Third Impact and, judging by the remains of his aircraft, his body may just straight up disintegrates.

But want to know what else disintegrates? Dandelion flower.

The Vickers-Armstrong V-1000, was a 'still-born' jet-powered cargo aircraft, designed to meet a Royal Air Force requirement for strategic transport, to support its strategic bomber fleet, particularly the V-bombers. Based on elements of the Vickers Valiant, it was not built.😞

When function triumphs over form!😲The 1940 Fleet Shadower requirement was for a highly specialized aircraft, intended to follow enemy naval forces over long times and radio back their positions. Both General Aviation and Airspeed built prototypes, but neither entered service.😉

Saturday Artwork.
Today, it's a work by artist Chris Golds, entitled 'First Kill' portraying a Blackburn Skua, the first occasion a British aircraft brought down a German aircraft, a Dornier Do 18, in WW 2. This has since been changed, to give an RAF Fairey Battle this accolade!
