"Draw This Again" 2019 edition!
This time I paid more attention to the first design and tried to capture what I think I tried to go for back then. A little rusty in the anatomy and gesture department this year, but more confident and efficient brushwork.
Van Gogh was both a conservative and a progressive artist and that balance afforded him an enduring legacy. He retained traditional means and methods but wisely appropriated progressive ideas about color, flattening of shape and space & heightening the impact of brushwork.
