Off the top of my head, I've seen numerous examples of men (in this case it IS only men) discussing Osamu Dezaki, Hideaki Anno or Shinichirō Watanabe where this is common.
When Dezaki was eulogized, most (English) fans had nothing to say about Aim for the Ace (which arguably

Shin Takarajima

Takarajima (Treasure Island)
The BEST retelling of treasure island i've ever seen.
26 episodes, directed by the amazing Osamu Dezaki.
Like all his work, the narrative is introspective and beautiful. I had a crush on this John Silver (and still do)
(has AMAZING postcard memories)

Ordering my favorites honestly feels so pointless when I think about how much great stuff I still havent seen. Like Monster and LOGH are almost guaranteed to be high favorites and I still havent touched almost anything from Osamu Dezaki.

1978-79 TV anime "Shin Aim for the Ace!" 25 episodes (Equivalent to volumes 1-10--only anime with no Dezaki involvement--he was asked, but was busy with Treasure Island)
and
1979 Movie anime "Aim for the Ace!" (Equivalent to volumes 1-10, highly condensed)

And nine years later:

Samurai Giants is everything we can expect from an episode that gathers Osamu Dezaki 出﨑統 (in the guise of Yabuki Tooru 矢吹徹)'s storyboards and Yasuo Otsuka's 大塚康生 animation supervision (and designs) with key animation by Hayao Miyazaki 宮崎駿.

Halfway through Ashita no Joe. The show dragged its feet far too much after Joe was released, but the Wolf arc was a very welcome return to the cinematic, quasi-experimental direction and tooth-grinding drama that I want from Dezaki

The LP-only OST for the JP dub of Terrahawks features some frames taken from the dub's exclusive Dezaki-like animated OP & ED—FTR, the OP/ED sadly never saw the light of day again past its original TV broadcast.

Decided to go & scan the OP frames from my own copy of the LP.

Harmony is a specific way to color cels (having them painted by the art rather than the coloring dpt), though it's generally associated to Osamu Dezaki's "postcard memory" technique

The Revue Starlight movie felt like an ode to Tomohiro Furukawa's work on Ikuhara's Penguindrum at times, but even more I think it's interesting how the Dezaki line of directors continues to indirectly influence each other and how they come out with similar (but unique) results

Yeah! Nobody can agree what to call them, they’ve been called Harmony Frames or Ostcard Memories, but it’s a style pioneered by Osamu Dezaki, he loved using them, they’re in all his work basically

You think Dezaki wanted to put some of these types of shots for the scene breaks in the Rankin Bass Frosty special?
