Made Yamame in a pose i always kinda wanted to do! ^^ very fitting i would say ;)
I had a fun time appreciating all these design elements. Although this style may not be familiar for western audience, they actually all go well together.
For me, to drive this style home, the most fitting pose is of course derived from the Nio (temple guardian) buddhism statues.
The body ornaments and the elaborate hair bun reminds me of various buddhism sculptures and paintings from the Tang dynasty.
Lots of such sculptures are found along the silk road (especially Dunhuang), which are dessert areas (west of China). Super fitting for the Gerudo dessert.
If you avoid drawing black features like wide noses and full lips because it doesn’t fit your “anime style” Satoshi Batista is a beautiful example of fitting just fine! 🤗
