Paleon - The Excavator Pokemon
Paleon uses its paws and tail to delicately dig up buried items. It has become a valuable companion in paleontology circles. Some Paleon have been known to run away and return home with fossils.

Fossils are the dead remains/evidence of past organisms. Burrows, footprints & poo can also be preserved as

has a legacy of ancient marine creatures, dinosaur bones/eggs & rare hominin (modern human) fossils.

My Trilobite linocut (Cheirurus ingricus) on a slate grey paper with kozo (mulberry). The grey could be the Paleozoic sea or the modern rock in which we find fossils. I am making a series of these, each unique. ⠀

I am enjoying my coloured and patte… https://t.co/tjXXgWg50q

[Youre a Pokemon Gym Leader! RT w/ your type and team!]

I'd run a Rock type gym that's, unfairly, being battered by a sandstorm. It would be set in a palaeontological dig site where you have to piece together broken fossils.

I mega evolve my Aerodactyl https://t.co/ByFY2RtdZG

A very nice paper with wonderful fossils. Some of the specimens (most of ?) are hosted in our collections ;) Quercy specimens have a crazy preservation (3D mummified toad and salamander with last meal in the belly) !!!

Okay, this one is kind of partially orange. But hear me out: it's an attempt to add other possible pigments/structural color to what is known from fossils. Also patterns that seem plausible since we only have few patches of reddish feathers on much of the body.

NEW: The Trilobite! This creature can bite people 3 times, then it molts and leaves behind a shield.

P.S. Yes, it can also be found in mined fossils. :)

Today's Pokémon is Frankenstein's dinosaur No.3. It was brought to life by scientists combining two halves of two different fossils. They are mad, they are fools.

I had to make this a thing with how Blathers reacts to insects compared to fossils. These are up in my store now! More emotes coming soon as well!

Doesn’t everyone own fossiliforous skulls? The skull on the right is carved from stromatolite: bacterial fossils.

Today's Pokémon is Frankenstein's dinosaur. It was brought to life by combining two halves of two different fossils. Is man the true monster?

out swim them speed wise. Also for the question "where do we get these ideas from?" Probably from misidentifying already existing animals, from sightings or fossils.
My favourite example of this is with the elasmotherium spawning the unicorn legend
