Consistency both has its place and doesn't. I personally like seeing different artists' take on characters! Here's Bugs Bunny as drawn by three different animators: Robert McKimson, Friz Freleng, and Chuck Jones. https://t.co/tpVrZn6DST

well obviously in this circumstance, it'd have to be Art Davis. Davis was really the underappreciated director at the studio. His cartoons had so much energy and joy. they're just pure fun. also, he was DePatie-Freleng's best director after Hawley Pratt and Art Leonardi.

And within the same span of years (early 60s) you have Friz Freleng birth the 'Pink Panther' into existence. Not a tiger, a panther....but like Snagglepuss, also pink.

It's a lot of similar-looking tall hip cats to keep track of.

DePatie-Freleng cartoon, THE BLUE RACER (1972-74). A forgotten cartoon? It was popular in the 80s, when I grew up, forming a block with the Pink Panther and The Ant and The Aardvark, also DePatie-Freleng characters. It was quite funny I remember.

DePatie-Freleng at its weirdest. These are probably my favorite layouts from the clip

Günün her saati ulaşılabilir olmanız gerektiğini söyleyen, size ulaşamadığında darılan, sosyal medya hesaplarınızın şifrelerini talep eden, takip edeceğiniz kişilere karar vermek isteyen yakınlarınıza hatırlatmanız gereken bir şey var: Bu davranışların ismi dijital zorbalıktır 🌵

Changed my usual art stuff today by getting out my traditional markers and MS Paint. I wonder how much you think those two are recognizeable as being from one artist? What are similarities? (Tbf I did used my cute/chibi style for Frelea but not for Tekla 😌)

I'm into incredibly forgettable DePatie Freleng cartoons from the 60s and 70s now, get over it jeez.

I drew Rattfink (no not that one)

Trying to draw things in that 60s/70s Freleng DePatie style is pretty fun, but everyone is such a weird proportion

More DePatie-Freleng backgrounds. For this cartoon ("Aches and Snakes") DFE outsourced it to a studio in Australia.

They had a very PECULIAR way of drawing backgrounds, to put it mildly. Especially with the trees.

DFE never outsourced to that Australian studio ever again.

Both worked in Freleng's unit for a while.
Monroe can be distinguished from Chiniquy thanks to his angry inbetweens.

Throwback to redesigns I made two years ago for an obscure DePatie Freleng cartoon. Try and guess what it was. I might re-redo these soon.
