Just finished this portrait of a very famous statue in my hometown of Glasgow. The Duke of Wellington on his horse. With the famous cone on his heed 💙

An odd twist of fate, Tyrone had benefited from James' tacit support during the war, as the king turned a blind eye to Irish imports of arms and munitions from Glasgow. Tyrone would not have been able to maintain the war without this key line of supply.

Fun fact: I made prints of that "No Stabbing" sign and sold it at MCM Glasgow. It sold pretty well. 😂

Throughout her career she also worked as a designer, working in the theatre and also designing carpets. In 1938 she received a major commission from the Free State to paint murals for the Irish pavilion at the British Empire Exhibition in Glasgow.
