Here he is! His name is Guzz, he was once a human (second picture on the right) performer named Genesis who did sword swallowing. One day his act didn’t go to well, and, since his death was related to eating, he ended up a Guzzlord. Oops!

I mean Zygarde other than weird doberman isn't what I'd call cuddly, same for Guzzlord, I see what you mean tho Digimon really puts its hands into the very guts of the design while Pokemon is safer.

Does Guzzlord count? He's only part dragon type but is probably my favorite, design-wise, of any dragon type mon. (I got his shiny on my birthday a few years ago too, which was super dope!)

A good example of this principal can be found with my first figment, Esuriit. It initially started out as an idea for an improved, more sympathetic form of this pokemon, Guzzlord. I kept adding more and more modifications till I saw it was something completely different.
