Nothing too fancy. Just two quick drawings of my unicorn Iphigenia as a foal 😄
Here we have another example of the presence of two layers, corresponding to the Sacrifice of Iphigenia (House of the Tragic Poet). The close-up pictures show the thickness of the “secco” layer and the painter’s brushstrokes.
Had the pleasure to work on a #commission for @flyingsnow of her tabletop character Iphigenia 'Ginny' Nailo... who is more than meets the eye.
Watercolour picture of Iphigenia. This is quite old art, from October 2019, I still like it though!

Anselm Feuerbach was born 12th September 1829. His ancient- Greek-themed paintings of Iphigenia Lonely in Tauris (=Sevastopol), Plato's Symposium Gets Rowdy, Medea Is Not Happy and Battle of the Teutonic-Looking Amazons are on the covers of more Classics book than can be counted.
🍭👀 #Eye_candy post. These are beautiful & less know frescoes 🎨 depicting women: detail from "Pan & the nymphs" (House of Fatal Love in Pompeii), "Woman with a scroll" (Casa di Fusco), "Young girl" (from Stabiae) & detail from "Sacrifice of Iphigenia" (H. of the Tragic Poet).
