That's because Keiji Inafune made Blues based on both Joe from Cyborg 009 & Hakaider's human form from Android Kikaider, which is another series made by the creator of Cyborg 009 Shotaro Ishinomori. Kikaider has 2 anime series too.

They were series that he grew up with as a kid.

You may remember I did the Tokusatsu comparison of Saburo from Kikaider with Blues basically being similar.. Well MM5 having Dark Man seems like a reference to Hakaider which is Saburo's battle form in Kikaider also got his own movie later. Saburo is also a member of DARK group

Oldest: Ichiro, red
Middle: Jiro, blue

Since I don't feel like I'll be finishing those (mostly because I'm thinking of changing the designs a bit), I'll post those two here.
I'm keeping the actual explanations, but obviously it's the Kikaider x 01 thing again.

I'm up & continuing my Cyborg 009 rewatch. Quick question, but it turns out someone also uploaded the Kikaider & 01 anime & I don't think I've seen it before. Might give it a watch after I'm done, but has anyone else seen this one?

yo a Kikaider solo lo conozco por un par de caps de su anime y el (aburrido) crossover que hizo en KR gaim , de alli en mas no se mucho de su universo

la peli por ahora esta entretenida, pero no se, me esperaba algo mas estupidamente violento
