Some years after Last Crusade, Alison Doody confessed in an interview that, although delighted, she regretted that Connery had a role in the film, since the secondary plot between father and son had overshadowed her character.
A bit of Sean is a lot Sean. 😄

They only had one chance to destroy the set in Elstree Studios. A scene of risk where everything had to be perfectly planned. The whole set was 8 feet above the studio floor, controlled by hydraulic gimbles built by the very special effect technician Ken Morris.

The healing of Henry Jones was made in two cuts. The first was a make-up effect involving baking soda and vinegar. In the second cut, the wound appears to be foaming up even more and when Indy pours more water on it the wound washes away revealing healed flesh.

This amazing home video of ILM's William Forsche, will show you the real background behind the Creation of the Donovan FX transformation. I still am surprised only 9000 people has seen this movie at youtube. A real who is who document in ILM.

The first shot in the sequence was a matte painting by Yusei Uesugi -ILM-. It was the basic bottomless pit shot, looking down the side of an enormous rock cliff that just goes on and on into darkness. Indy's feet are visible.

"The Temple floor was built on Hydraulic gimbles. The whole set was 8 feet above the studio floor.
Built by the very clever special effect man Ken Morris. He also built the model tank. He would always overcome a challenge."
George Gibbs.

By the way. In the final cut, after being shot, Henry never gives the Grail diary to his son to pass the three lethal trials. So that, these stills would be another deleted scene, right?

Once inside the temple Henry gets shot in the stomach and Indy has no choice but to face the temple's three challenges.
The set created by Production Designer Elliot Scott at Elstree Studios was as impressive as creepy.

Patricia Carr worked in various capacities on all three films in the original Indiana Jones trilogy.
She also worked in the original trilogy of George Lucas' Star Wars.
An inexhaustible source of knowledge and memories and a wonderful friend of the IJPG Project.

I have been scolded for not paying enough attention to the ladies of the saga. And they are right. I'm really sorry.
In the photos, the woman Steven Spielberg titled "the best professional in her field", the script supervisor Nikki Clapp.

Another interesting scene that was deleted in Guadix is the arrival of the Jones to the same station of Iskenderun, where also Sallah would receive them. We can even find some LC trailers that show this scene.

The lack of photographs by Denholm Elliott during the filming of LC is extraordinary.
Elliott briefly studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and was made Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1988. He died in Ibiza in October, 92 after 47-years career

On May 23, while the second unit was filming the desert of Tabernas, Spielberg visited the historic center of Almeria, specifically the School of Arts of the city. He turned the patio into the palace of the Sultan of theepublic of Hatay, played by Alexei Sayle.
