I have to remind myself not every painting I do is going to be good or be an exact likeness and that’s okay.
But I am just not liking this one, I got his jaw all wrong, his skin was painted white and that was hard. The only thing I really like is his gold-leaf ear and earring

#messi - old one, at the time I thought the likeness was terrible but it’s not so bad looking back. Something I’ve noticed with portraits is ones I like that seem spot on at the time recede back to a norm, and ones I thought were terrible and below the norm elevate after time

Minimalistic homage to my boy Brendan Fraser. How hard it is to convey someone’s likeness, without showing the most characteristic asset about that person’s face - in this case, his eyes? Tough challenge, but an honest failure. Will try different approaches, though.

As with the Game Grumps in part 1, I added the likeness of Kevin Smith into my comic as he was also a major inspiration for me to make the comics I wanted to make. I also based his teacher outfit on Koro-sensei's from Assassination Classroom for fun, haha.
