The YF-29 Durandal from the 2011 anime film Macross Frontier The Movie: Sayonara no Tsubasa (The Wings of Goodbye). The YF-29 is one of the most powerful valkyries in all Macross. Art by Shoji Kawamori. Composite screen shots by me.

I couldn't bring myself to like Robotech's Lynn Minmei. So I am really happy I took the opportunity to watch Super Dimension Fortress Macross. Lynn Minmay and others can be very different. It helps not to care about the love triangle as well.

Lynn Minmay is one of the reasons should watch the actual Super Dimension Fortress Macross. For Japan only she is actually having a couple of virtual concerts on YouTube. One is tomorrow. The 3D Live hasn't a set date yet. https://t.co/C9vAl0DaiM

Robotech Macross Saga is an edit done of the first Macross. Because Harmony Gold still hold rights to first Macross it has blocked release of the franchise and its games. Macross has a ton of games and crossover content that at the moment can't release in some countries.

Macross II, done
I was a bit excited because I hadn’t watched this one before. I always heard it wasnt canon, so I never really thought about it. But we are doing the *whole* Macross...I mean, I will force myself to watch Delta, so...

Collage of head units for the antagonist/enemy mecha of Macross. Includes an extra image key to aid fans with identification of the various scenes. A follow up to my original tweet from last year https://t.co/p65EYDUZGq

The bishoujo of the day is Lynn Minmay from Super Dimension Fortress Macross.

Some friends introduced me to the padoru meme so I ended up doing these for them. Amira from Monster Prom and Sheryl Nome from Macross.

I was feeling nostalgic for some Macross. Also I don't know how to draw planes.

Robotech before I learned it's called Macross. One of those, "watching anime and didn't know it was anime" shows.

Colored art for the VF-1A Valkyrie in rare orange colors seen in episode 16 of the 1982 TV series Super Dimension Fortress Macross. Though likely just an error, it makes for a fun unintentional easter egg. Line art by Shoji Kawamori, colors by me

They made a battle suit out of a Dreadnought chassis, surely they can make a smaller mech for this thing. Make it look like a land vehicle equivalent to the VF-1 Valkyrie gerwalk mode from Macross.

Thanks for this Macross. I try not to join too many of these so it's nice to join one with someone I follow. I'm Nyo, im a Digital Artist trying really hard to improve this year. I draw mostly anime and a bit of Anthro. Ill let the thread grow for a bit and look through everyone

Oooh, I like! Reminds me of my first anime crush, Milia Farina, from Super dimension fortress Macross. :-)

My biggest influence is definitely 80's anime like Macross. Haruhiko Mikimoto is one of the all time great character designers.

Here are some quick WIP ‘first pass’ colors that I did just for my own practice. Not a finished page, of course, but I think I got a good mood going. The color palette is somewhere between Bronze Age Marvel and Macross. The B/W art is so good though💥it doesn’t need color☮️👍😎

Greater Combine of Luna's humans and Synthetics, or the Combine for short starships are inspired from homeworld and ace combat designs along with macross. All ships are mostly run by AI intelligence.
