Day 3 of @Joannehawker 's #marchmeetthemaker is about Beliefs & Values. Head over to my Insta grid to read my ramblings. Illustrations from my books: The Greatest Cake and The Peg People. Photo from a School assembly from 2 years ago. Final image is a recent custom illustration💗
Today is about style. I love to help pet lovers by capturing a lasting image of their gorgeous animals through my digitally hand-drawn pet portraits - or pet pawtraits, as I say!

Gonna try to do a little of #marchmeetthemaker here as well as instagram! I'm a day behind because well... I forgot. The prompt for yesterday was "Brand Intro," and I guess that's pretty on-brand? But really, my brand is kinda "whatever Michaela feels like trying!"
I'm taking part in #MarchMeetTheMaker over on Instagram
Day 2 is all about style- I love working in striking black & white, hiding small details in my illustrations, and occasionally sneaking in some colour: https://t.co/ETjvtBEMne

This little mermaid was my first stab at trying out a technique I've been experimenting with recently and I think it is going to completely change the way I work. I shared more about the process on Instagram for #marchmeetthemaker #marchmeetthemaker2020

The last #marchmeetthemaker prompt is FAQs. I’m always asked about @redbubble & I have been wanting to do a post about why I chose them for my artwork so this seems like the perfect opportunity. There are 4 main reasons.
For transparency this post is not sponsored/a paid ad 1/4
Today’s #marchmeetthemaker is all about planning. If I’m honest I’m not planning much right now with the current global situation so I thought I would share this drawing again instead. This was initially created to represent the journey I went through with chronic illness...1/2
New product coming soon! My future goals always include making more art & products. I have SO many ideas & so little time to do them all! These little cuties will hit the shop soon, but first I want to know: Would you choose a keychain or a neckace?

Do you like light backgrounds or dark backgrounds? To me it depends on the subject matter. Tho I am slightly more partial to darker ones. #marchmeetthemaker #commission
For today’s #marchmeetthemaker I would like to hear from you. Do you prefer to only see finished art posts or do you like seeing work in progress posts as well as finished posts? Let me know below 🙂

Photography plays a very important role in my artistic process. I feel like I can’t call an artwork mine unless I’ve have had a hand in its entirety from start to finish. It’s limiting but it’s also helped me appreciate subjects that aren’t always appreciated. #marchmeetthemaker
Day 21- Change
#MarchMeetTheMaker
I’m still pretty early on in my business so there haven’t been many changes yet... but I guess we’ll start with one of the more easy to show ones- the pigeons character designs from 2018 and 2020! See if you can spot the differences! 👀
#packaging
Here are a few designs to look out for on my packing if you have something in the post that’s on it way to you 👀🔮
They might even make onto a few new mugs too ✨😁

PACKAGING
Haven't had to send out enough of stuff to justify setting up some custom packaging. When I've sent a drawing I've put it in a plastic sleeve strapped to some rigid cardboard and chucked it in a padded envelope with a person… https://t.co/FYUCUXeRh6
Proud of: I’m so chuffed of this portrait I completed about a month ago, it definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone with it not being a girl 😆 the customer was really happy with how it came out and that I captured their son’s character yay 😊
