I just use them for inspiration, I can't use the exact same colors and shades due to me doing traditional art, but it's a fun way to plan your drawings. You can see I've crossed out some I had already used. Looking up moodboards helps a lot too.

One of my favorite character-building exercises is moodboards or collages based on their character.

The way I do it is looking at them & thinking, "what is this character made of?" And then I slap down ANYTHING that I can think of.

For example, here are Matthew's! [1]

I don't have moodboards, but here are the MCs from book 1. It's a fantasy whodunnit. Yaetherim is a fairy searching for the Rychillans who attacked him and left him for dead. Tenora is a Rychillan Arch-Mechanic investigating why engines are malfunctioning.

Step 3: distract yourself from the writing by making more than one moodboards for each character and fic all total in hopes to motivate you to write but end up doing nothing but making moodboards

Step 4: Cry at 1am https://t.co/H3oxk9B8fG

So I tried to design characters based off of 'aesthetic moodboards' on Drawception a few times. Even tried to make my own moodboard. Didn't go great, but oh well.
