@NicOpossum Some Final Fantasy races like chocobos, moogles and carbuncles (hi @CarbuncleWishes) come to mind, I think the Moombas from Final Fantasy VIII especially represent some untapped potential!

So the oddity of her village was that everyone was a were-beast.
Magnolia was a were-lynx, which I went for moomba proportions for. (As I always loved them from FF8)
