@sleepy_uwus The main reason I have still a DeviantArt is to download Krita bundles (packs with different types of assets like gradients, palettes, brushes and patterns), but I usually make modified presets of the brushes and new patterns and gradients myself to adapt them to me. :]

Might play around with other color palettes, but for now here is the Snake Angel in all their glory. I'm really happy with this design, I've historically had a lot of trouble liking my snangels. So I hope you like him too!

@ElliotCowanYes In fact, The Hobbit (1977) pretty much set the tone for the late 70's/early 80's in general with the murky color palettes, dark fairy tale atmosphere, and Arthur Rackham influence echoing in the work of Don Bluth, Ralph Bakshi, Jim Henson, and even Disney itself (by the mid 80's)
Nobody asked but i wanted to talk about it a bit... when coloring im usually think of palettes, specyally formthe underpaint. So that i can make the piece be cohezie with harmony but still have enough hue contrast not to look muddy

Toying with the @SnakeHillGames Sprite Lamp example in Unity with a Super Mario World palette to test an idea. I've hardly seen anyone actually try "real time" sprite lighting with such limited palettes, and I am SO tempted to be the first… but any artists I'd hire would hate me
